Waaaaaah "I Want My Mama!"

Did I ever mention that tornadoes scare the begeebus out of me? Well, they do. And guess what? We have a tornado watch today until 7 p.m. Crap.

That's something I hate about living in the Midwest. It seems accompanying every t-storm during the summer is a tornado watch. And twice last year it was actual tornado warnings. :(

Ugh--We have warnings now, but it is looking like the worst is going right around us--Phew!

Last night was a fun one, wasn't it? We had quite a few tornado warnings between 8 and 10 and most of Charleston was without power for a few hours. I don't mind the tornado watches so much during the day, but at night they scare the crap out of me!!

Heck no, it wasn't fun--I pride myself on saying I like storms, but I was stuck on Haywood road at david's bridal with my sis when all of the warnings started blaring over the speakers. No one could make out exactly what they were saying, but I know what my chicken self heard: "Ten tornadoes have been spotted heading directly for David's bridal on Haywood Road. Take cover immediately" Blah! Can the tornadoes kindly stay in the midwest, please (and far from Sharon and Andrea)--Thanks.

Okay, so maybe I DON'T want to move to South Carolina!! I am such a baby about tornadoes, too. I used to LOVE me some thunderstorms, the more severe the better! THEN I had two scary experiences and now I freak every time I hear about a storm. Last summer the kids and I were stuck in my car during a huge hail storm complete with a tornado warning for the exact area we were in and I'm surprised I held it together as well as I did...I couldn't see a thing with all the ahil falling...it was total white out and all I could think was a tornado was gonna sweep down and carry us away!! Anyway...I know your fear! Happy to hear they passed you by!

You can still move here, don't worry, I don't think we have EVER had an actual tornado warning here--That's why I was so scared out of my mind. As it turns out, the sky got dark, but no big storm ever happened---PHEW!

It turns out that there were three tornadoes down here in Charleston. Quite a few homes were destroyed and a number of people were sent to the hospital. Thank God that nobody was killed.

I used to think those waterspouts we have were neat to watch, until one formed in front of my house a few years ago! SCARY!!
