Our Cute Li'l Cul-De-Sac

We took advantage of the beautiful weather today by going to the zoo and then playing outside until dark. We live in a fantastic neighborhood made up of five cozy cul-de-sacs and there are young children in almost every house. Once the warm weather hits each year, all of the kids knock on each others' doors, calling everyone out to play. They run around each others' yards and play games while all the parents hang out. It reminds me of the way my siblings and I played with our friends when we were little and I am so glad that even in this chaotic day and age, there are still places for my son to run around carefree with a bunch of other shrieking, laughing kids. I'm even more glad it's all right in my own front yard! Landon always has the best time and I love watching him smile like that! I remember last year Landon was kind of the baby of the neighborhood, but now, almost every afternoon, there's a pack of little munchkins on my porch asking in unison, "Can Landon come out and play?". I watch my little boy as he takes off in a frenzy, collecting his games and toys to share with his buddies, and wonder how in the world he got so big so fast.

I wish we were your neighbors!

I am SO happy Landon has the neighbors he does, with kids to play with. Aidan misses out on that in our area. :( I know he misses his "buddy", as he refers to Landon.

Cute pictures. I love the houses in that neighborhood, too.

Ugh! I KNOW!! We miss you, too!!! That's all that's missing here-THE BRUENS! Maybe one day...

That reminds me so much of the neighborhood we're in now, made up of 2 cul-de-sacs with young kids in almost every house, out playing till dark in nice weather, the parents all getting some much needed adult time while the kids play! It's the biggest thing I'm going to miss when we move. Neighborhoods like these are so few and far between. Ooo, maybe we can move into yours..any houses for sale down there?? :)

Kim--I know there was a big wink beside your comment, but I did want to tell you that there is one AWESOME house for sale in this neighborhood....... :oD

Oh don't tell me that!!! I want to move out of state so badly...it seems like the cost of living is so much less once you get out of the NYC area and staying home full time would be a real possibility. My friend Mandy lives in Ohio and keeps telling me about how great it is there (shes from CT) and trying to get us to move out there! It's becoming more and more tempting....too bad all of our family is here, or it wouldn't be such a hard decision!

Email me sometime to give me the address of the house for sale (if you don't mind breaking your anonymity!) :)

That got me teary. I wish we lived in your cul-de-sac with wonderful neighbors. We thought out street wasn't busy and IT IS.. our neighbors are pathetic and I wouldn't want my child to play with them and we have NO YARD. Boo hoo for me. Love the pictures and I'm so glad Landon has that. Fun, fun!

Andrea--There are a few parents we try to avoid, but the kids are all amazing--I just love them! I can't wait for Landon's birthday this year so I can have them all over :o)
