Happy Mother's Day

Mother's Day is quickly becoming my favorite holiday. It's a day that reminds me of my own mother and how she has always been there for me. It reminds me of my step-mother and how she has become such a huge part of my life. It reminds me of my grandmother and all she has been through to take care of our whole family, always putting herself last. It reminds me of all of my friends who are mothers...the ones who encourage me every day with their love and strength and devotion. Most of all, I love this day because it reminds me of how far I've come from who I used to be...how much my world has changed since I became a mother. My house has never been so messy. My clothes have never been so stained. I have never been so exhausted in my life...But I have also never laughed so hard or loved so much and I have to admit that what they say is true: It really is all so worth it. I never thought I'd feel this way, but dealing with the tantrums, fearing the worst through every illness, having very little "alone time", always cleaning something or folding something or cooking something....It's all worth it. Today we mothers are celebrated for the love we have for our children...that indescribable, overwhelming, super-human love that comes with the territory. What could be more beautiful than that? Today, my thoughts and prayers are with all of you women out there who share this job with me. May God bless you for every nose you wipe, for every scrape you bandage, for every forehead you kiss goodnight. May He grant you the wisdom and courage to do everything that motherhood might require of you along the way and may you always come through the trials of life saying, "It's all so worth it!" Happy Mother's Day to all of the beautiful women in my life: Mom, Diana, Grandma....Barb, Mommer, Laura, Nancy, Grandma Irene, Kelly, Sharon, Danielle, Andrea.....and of course all of the moms who read my blog. You are all such a huge part of who I am and are helping me to become the mother I so desperately want to be. Have a fantastic day filled with homemade cards and big surprises.
