Our Weekend

Sorry I'm late with the WORDS for this post! ;o) I accidentally posted it instead of saving it--Oops! Anyways, this weekend, Andy and I took Landon to "Boo in the Zoo". My sister, Nancy rode with us and my step-mom and baby brother, Ben, met us there. We thought it'd be a cute little event at the zoo with the animals all around us....but it turned out to be thousands of people in a HUGE line waiting to trick-or-treat. That's it...Just a big trick-or-treat line all night long. No animals were out, Landon couldn't even eat any of the candy he got (thanks to the lover-ly peanut allergy--Blah!), and everyone around us seemed to be SICK. (Come ON, people, it's just candy--keep the sicklings at home, poor little things!) Wouldn't you know it, now Landon and I are sick, too? Ha ha ha! It was cute to see Landon and Ben in their costumes together, though. They were adorable! Landon loved seeing all of the other kids' costumes, too. He kept yelling, "Mom, there's Spiderman! Hey it's Elmo, Mom! Look!"...almost like he thought it was all "real"--hee hee! And Nancy and Andy (the candy fiends) spent the whole night high-fiving each other every time they got something good in "Landon's" bag. Look for the picture at the end where I caught them hovering over the pile, bartering and negotiating with their treasure. I was cracking up! Anyways, these little holiday activities I remember loving as a kid haven't always been what I remembered, if you know what I mean...So, either the activities have changed since I was little--or these weird things are actually fun for kids. Food for thought! :o)

Landon looks so adorable in his costume! AND, your new 'do sure look like it's agreeing w/ ya. :) Also, I love that Andy will wear pink. Still working on Pat for that one...lol.

Great pics. I wish we were there w/ you all! I miss you guys! (btw, we're planning on coming for Christmas. We hope to see you!)

Yes, yes, Andy "loves him some pink!" He wears pink all the time! I still remember when he wouldn't though. It's like this bridge they have to cross, but once they do--Yee haw! It's pink city! Ha ha ha! He wouldn't usually dress like that at the zoo, but we had to be there at 5:30, so he had to come straight from "casual " friday at work. :o)
PS) I CANNOT WAIT to see you guys!! We should try to organize a dessert night or something "Christmas-y" while you're here. Let me know...

Andrea--OH! By the way, Landon's costume was from Old Nay, too! I meant to comment that on your blog! I was shooping in there one day awhile back and Andy let him run around the store wearing that costume (no one tell him he was a mama kangaroo! He was telling people the little Joey was his baby brother! We let him keep it, even though it wasn't what I planned for him to wear. Every time someone told him he was adorable in the costume, he'd say, "I not adorable! I Landon the kangaroo!!!" Ha ha ha!

Have you been told today that your kid is adorable? Just wondering.

Jen...
Oh your Landon sounds just like my Landen. I tell him all the time "you are just so cute" and he's like "No, me Landen" and then of course me being the "mean" mom I am.. try to confuse him by telling him I'm the daddy, or Amelia is the mommy. Something strange like that. I know, I know.. trying to confuse a two year old. Not nice.
Back to the words on your blog...
We used to bargain our candy. Each of us would sit in a little area with our candy in piles.. I'll trade you this for this .. I'll give you eight tootsie rolls for one piece of gum. LOL that was the fun part.
Why won't my hubby wear pink??? I tease him and say he's not manly enough. LOL
